A Game of Thrones is good. Close to 700 pages in mass market paperback, but reads much more quickly than that. Working on A Clash of Kings (book 2) right now.
I got the first three books as a set for Christmas, and the plan all along was to read the corresponding book after each season. Others might not agree, but I enjoyed the twists and turns...

What to read next?
My options:
The Road, Cormac McCarthy: I’ve had this one for a while, but it’s never taken hold of me. Compared to other options, might be an easier read to follow up the couple books I just finished. This would be the first McCarthy book I’ve read.
Big Sur, Jack Kerouac: I’ve had this one even longer. I’ll be honest; Kerouac has been one of the hardest writers for...

How did you like BDD’s book?
It was a fun read. I thought the narrative structure was well-done if not a bit gimmicky — “internet diary” is sort of the “found footage” of books — and the first two acts were really good. The third act was kind of clunky, and the ending a little...

Finally at the tail end of this terrible cold.
I went home after a half-day on Wednesday and took the whole day off on Thursday. Went back to work yesterday, because the only way I could justify a third sick day in a row (and on a Friday no less) was with a fucking toe tag.
I did manage to finish two books this week I had been meaning to get to, so I wouldn’t call it a complete waste. Just a professional one.

Ghost of Weirdos Past.
Remember this fucking guy? I didn’t, until he showed up to work at my branch today. I’m not going to be a dick to him or anything — he actually came across like a decent person throughout the day — but it should be fun to see if this dude does any weird shit over the next three weeks while he’s filling in.
On another great work note, I once again doubled my daily...

I had to work today.
My branch is located in a business park area, so there were long stretches of nothingness — not that I minded (obvs).
Working holidays are tough, because it’s that much harder to hit your sales numbers. Thankfully I ended up killing it with almost double the production of a normal day. Everything’s just clicking for me this quarter. It’s awesome.
The best part? With the...

So there were a Parts Two and Three to Fun Sunday but there wasn’t photographic evidence or any sort of documentation whatsoever.

Over? Did someone say over? Nothing’s over until we decide it is!
– ESPN anchor Neil Everett, at the end of a Jeremy Lin segment about his turnover problem tonight, just comes right out and admits it.

Yeah, it's my birthday, but I've been celebrating...
Saturday: Bottle service at The Office with a handful of my amazing friends. We got drunk and danced to a bunch of 80s songs and rap music.
Sunday: Bottomless mimosa brunch with my four best friends.
Monday: WWE Monday Night Raw with Joey just for kicks.
Today (actual birthday): Relax. Grab a good meal at some point. Maybe play some pool at Bar Pink later tonight. Just a chill day with no...

That was a fun Super Bowl, wasn't it?
I spent almost two weeks believing myself and telling others I couldn’t give two shits about the game, because NINERS OBVS. Boy, was I wrong.
Super Bowl squares were $5/square; I bought four. One ended up being the 7-7 square, which I got to be excited about for all of 15 minutes until that safety happened.
Montana > Brady. We can stop having this conversation.
